Tomás grew up in the San Diego Southbay communities of San Ysidro, Del Sol, Chula Vista and currently resides in Logan Heights. Living binationally, visiting with friends and family in Tijuana B.C. Mexico, Tomás' cross-border existence informs the way he approaches design and community. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California, Merced, Tomás began community organizing around issues such as displacement, state violence, indigenous rights, and border militarization.

Recently, Tomás was a Digital Producer with Alliance San Diego, a civil and human rights organization based in San Diego, CA that has made impacts in local, state, national and international policy. Informally, Tomás has also been a community organizer in Logan Heights & San Ysidro. Now as a designer, global citizen and aspiring architecture student, Tomás is exploring the intersections between design, architecture, community, self-determination, sustainability, land stewardship and autonomy.
